A graduate of the Screen and Media Diploma, Alyssa made the decision to transfer from another institution to ABTA - a choice she says changed everything. Now working with Benefit Cosmetics at Sephora alongside her close friend and colleague Liam, she has found both career direction and community. Charli
A Beauty Diploma graduate, Charli is now a Head Brow and Lash Specialist at The Lab, one of Canberra’s most recognised beauty salons. Supported through an apprenticeship pathway, she was sent by The Lab to further develop her skills at ABTA. Her journey reflects the strong connection between industry and education, where talent is actively nurtured and refined. Evie
Evie completed her Beauty Therapy Diploma while raising two children - and is now working in a professional day spa. Her journey is one of resilience, balance, and determination, navigating study, family, and career all at once. She proves that it’s never too late to invest in yourself and build a future you’re proud of. Her story speaks to anyone ready to take that first step, no matter their circumstances.
Heather
After completing the Advanced Nail Course, Heather built her own nail studio alongside her full-time role as a high school teacher. She dedicates her evenings and school holidays to growing her business, with a heartfelt goal of bringing care and confidence to elderly clients in aged care homes. Her journey is not just about business, but about purpose, compassion, and using skills to make a difference. Heather shows how passion can evolve into something deeply meaningful.
Liam
Named Student of the Year 2025 for the Screen and Media Diploma, Liam is now a manager at Sephora Canberra. With the strong support of his husband, Liam had the confidence to pursue a career he truly loves. His journey reflects not only talent and leadership, but also the courage to choose passion over convention. Samantha
At just 19 years old, Samantha was named Student of the Year 2024 for the Beauty Therapy Diploma and is now working as a beauty adviser at Sephora Canberra.. Her journey is a powerful example of how quickly dedication, and the right training can lead to real industry opportunities.
