Diploma of Beauty Therapy - SHB50115

Jump start your career in beauty. The beauty industry is rapidly growing every year providing endless opportunities and job security. Our graduates are in high demand after completing our comprehensive training. You will gain the highest level of knowledge in all modern beauty treatments making you job ready. Our student clinic provides in-salon training so you are fully prepared for your future career. We offer flexible study options, allow those looking at a new career to study part time or full time.

Full-time: 3 days/week over 12 months. Includes term break
in mid year). Plus required ABTA Student Clinic practice and
external work experience.

Part-time: 2 to 3 nights per week over 18 months. Including two term breaks. Plus required ABTA Student Clinic practice and external work experience.

Student Loans & Payments

This diploma is VET Student Loans approved. There are payment plans allowing you to pay your tuition fees in instalments and by specified due dates. This training is delivered with ACT and Commonwealth Government funding. Eligibility criteria apply. A VET Student Loan assists eligible students to pay tuition fees by accessing a government loan. Each loan gives rise to a VSL debt, due to the Commonwealth until it is repaid, and will only be granted for students who meet eligibility criteria.

Tuition Fees

This diploma is VET Student Loans approved. There are payment plans allowing you to pay your tuition fees in instalments and by specified due dates. The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.

Resources Kit

You will be required to buy a resources pack with the beauty uniform, notes, workbooks you will need to complete your diploma (total cost $500). For further details, and to see a detailed breakdown of resource items, see our tuition fee schedule. Products are supplied during training.

Work Experience

As a part of your training we ensure you have in spa experience to get you work ready. Our student-run spa allows you to learn whilst being guided by our professional educators. You’ll learn about – from client relations, point of sale transactions, performing treatments and the inside workings of running of a spa. Full-time and part-time students are expected to complete 38 hours of in-spa work experience.

International Qualification

We train you with both national and international syllabus, so that your new skills and standards will allow you to sit for international examinations on beauty therapies and make-up artistry right after you have completed the training with us. This is exclusive to ABTA full time students only.

You will be required to demonstrate competency by successful completion of written knowledge exercises, group work, oral activities, practical skill demonstration and observations throughout your training. You will also build up a portfolio record of completed beauty services during the training.

Recognition of prior learning

Previous recognised training may count as credit towards a
diploma. A student must provide evidence that they have gained one or more Units of Competency offered in the qualification they wish to study. While RPL is an assessment process, where a student will provide evidence of their skills and knowledge gained outside of their studies, determining if a student is required to study units that are relevant to their experience.

Online Learning

We have been providing online learning during covid-19.
However we are back in the classrooms starting July.
